DAVID W. TOWERY

Memorial Services for David W. Towery, 57, of Liberty City will be held Ten O’clock in the Morning, Saturday, July 9, 2005 at First Baptist Church Liberty City with the Reverend Bruce Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Gladewater Memorial Park.

Mr. Towery was born May 7, 1948 in Gilmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Liberty City. David graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler in 1968; following high school he joined the United States Marine Corp serving during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a peace officer in Gladewater and for the Gregg County Sheriff’s Department. David and his wife spent over two years in Thailand doing Mission Work.

Mr. Towery is survived by his wife, Lana Towery of Liberty City; three sons, John Towery of Longview, Michael Towery of Liberty City and Daniel Towery of Liberty City; two daughters, Melissa Dunivan and husband John of San Antonio and Jordan Towery of Liberty City; two grandchildren, Carmen Towery and Zachary Dunivan; father, Glynn Towery of Italy, Texas; brother, Ronald Towery of Gilmer; sister, Ann Black of Balch Springs; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Towery; two brothers, Lynn Towery and Donald Towery.

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore Friday from six to eight in the evening.
