HERE 'N THERE: Annelle Dugan Jones' husband, James, is living at Clairmont Nursing Home in Longview, Annelle reports. James suffered a stroke last Jan. 30 but still maintains a good attitude, she says.

AS MOST people know, Annelle was a reporter and photographer for the News Herald before retiring a few years ago. In fact, both James and Annelle were at one time News Herald workers when he delivered the newspaper in the area of Highway 31.

IT WAS a year or so before Charles K. Devall, then the publisher, thought to ask Annelle's full name. When he learned that Annelle was the better sounding by-line, he decided that it be used.

WHEN she learned that the News Herald was publishing a special edition next Oct. 3, recognizing the anniversaries of the Oil Museum and the East Texas Oil Field, she volunteered to help. Annelle can be reached by phone at her home, 903759-8700. Her mailing address is 3106 Fairhaven, Longview, Tex.
