SMITH BROWNE Services for Smith Browne of Kilgore were Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Fredonia Baptist Chrch with Rev. Charles Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Kilgore Cemetery under the direction of Stanmore Funeral Home. Mr. Browne died Friday, May 20, 2005 at an area hospital. He is survived by his wife; mother; six children. MARIAN BURGESS THOMAS Services for Marian Burgess Thomas, 77, of Kilgore were 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. David Hampton officiating. Mrs. Thomas died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at her home. She is survived by a daughter; a son; two grandsons, Logan and Slade Burgess; seven step-grandchildren; and many friends. SUE STEELE Memorial service for Sue Steel, 53, of Longview will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2005 at Welch Funeral & Memorial Garden Center Chapel, 4619 Judson road, with Father Bruce Lincon officiating. Mrs. Steele died Monday, May 23, 2005 in a local hospital. She was a resident of Longview for 16 years croming from Kilgore and attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Jack Steele of Longview; two daughters, Heather and Celia; one step-daughter; two step-sons and numerous grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Welch Garden Court. VIOLA “HONEY BUN” PETERSON Services for Viola “Honey Bun” Peterson, 88, of Tyler, former resident of Kilgore and Phoenix, AZ., are pending with Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary in Phoenix, AZ. Mrs. Peterson passed away Saturday, May 21, 2005 in Tyler. Mrs. Peterson was born May 8, 1917 in Davonport, OK., to John and Mabel Faultner. She was a long-time member of the Eastview Church of God. Mrs. Peterson was a resident of the Kilgore area from 1970-1986. While residing in Kilgore she owned and operated the Red Top Cab Co. and the Whiteway Grocery Store. Mrs. Peterson also managed the Thrifty Inn Motel in Liberty City before retiring in 1978. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Peterson; a daughter, Norma Fay Graves; a son, Dewain Graves; three sisters, three brothers, three stepdaughters and a stepson. She is survived by one daughter, Helen and Lewis Ed Baker of Kilgore; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews; other loving family and friends.
