Hancock gets another term as Kilgore’s Mayor Pro-Tem By BRENDA ALLUMSnews1@kilgorenewsherald.com Janice Hancock was reappointed mayor pro tem for the city Tuesday night during a regular city commission meting. Hancock has served in that position for the past two years and “agreed to continue serve two more years,” Kilgore Mayor Joe T. Parker said. Hancock who represents Place 3 on the Kilgore City Commission, was recently re-elected in a non-contested race. “I am committed to being available and accountable to the citizens of Kilgore,” she said. In addition to serving as city commissioner, Hancock was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the East Texas Regional Review Committee. She also serves on the board of Kilgore Historical Preservation Foundation, as an officer in the Kilgore Lions Club and as a member of East Texas Council of Governments. She and her husband, Randy, have three grown children, four grandchildren and are members of the Chandler Street Church of Christ. Hancock is employed by Coastal Chemical Company in Kilgore.
