Commission sets special meeting for noon Thursday

Kilgore City Commissioners will meet in a special called meeting at noon Thursday to discuss several change orders related to the South Sewer Main Replacement Project.

To be considered at the special meeting are changes orders for Wicker Construction Company for the removal of additional concrete and dirt material in order to install manholes and service line tie-ins.

Wicker has also requested a change order for additional concrete work adjacent to contractor’s project street cuts.

Interim City Manager Ernie Clark told commissioners Tuesday he hoped to have all the figures related to the change orders by Thursday.

Also scheduled is a discussion of the final plan for the J.S. and Frank Elder Subdivision, Tract 3.

Several commissioners expressed concerns over the fact they may be unable to attend the Thursday meeting. If that is the case then Mayor Joe T. Parker said the items would be considered at a special meeting scheduled next Tuesday.

Commissioners scheduled a work session for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, to “get the ball rolling” on updating personnel policies and procedures, the mayor said.
