texas’ history in song

Dr. Archie McDonald, history professor and historian, last night “Waltzed Across Texas” for Kil-gore Historical Preservation Foundation members and others interested in Texas history. McDonald sang songs from across Texas’ history ranging from “The Yellow Rose of Texas,” “Streets of Laredo,” “Around the Watertower” to “Home to the Armadillo.” His songs addressed Texans at war, Texans and cowboys, Texans and prohibition and Texans and trains. McDonald’s program was part of KHPF’s observance of National Historic Preservation Month.
