Services for Pearl Slusser, 94 of Waco, formerly of Kilgore, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Slusser died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at her daughter’s home in Waco. She was born Nov. 16, 1910 in Smackover, AR. The Slusser’s moved to Kilgore in 1931. She was a homemaker, a seamstress, was involved in Sabine School events and a Presbyterian. When she did work outside of the home, it was being a caregiver for the elderly or in the cafeteria of Gregg Home for the Aged. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. A. “Joe” Slusser; her children, Joseph Andrew Slusser, II, Josephine “Bophene” Massey, L.H. “Buba” Slusser and R. P. “Jitter” Slusser. She is survived by three daughters, Paula and David Clary of Hot Springs, AR., Ruth Craver of Richardson, Connie and Dr. Jim Bielfeldt of Waco; three sons, Ronnie and Opal Slusser of Gladewater, Johnny “Shorty” and Judy Slusser of Liberty City, T.A. “Andy” Slusser of Waco; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Slusser of Liberty City; 14 grandchildren; 15great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Enterprise were 2 p.m. Thursday, May, 19, 2005 at Greeley CME Church in Mt. Enterprise with Elder Freddie Price officiating. Burial will followed in Greeley Cemetery in Mt. Enterprise under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Henderson. Mr. Roquemore died Saturday, May 14, 2005 in Henderson. He is survived by one daughter; six sisters; four brothers; four aunts; two uncles; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. MAJOR P. HINDMAN Memorial services for Major P. Hindman, 64, of Longview will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Kilgore Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Veazy officiating. Mr. Hindman died Monday, May 16, 2005 in Houston. He was born in Tulsa, OK., Sept. 10, 1940 to Fred and Mary Hindman. He was an independent truck driver with Daily Express through the Houston terminal. He was a member of Kilgore Missionary Baptist Church, he enjoyed being on the road, fishing and boating. He never met a stranger and did his best to help anyone in need. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Latrice Hindman. He is survived by sons, Fred Hindman, San Angela, Larry Hindman, Patrick and Jean Hindman, all of Longview, Russell Hindman of Illinois; sister, Janis Ennis of Florida; one granddaughter. ALICE LAFERRY TRIMBLE SULLIVAN Memorial Services for Alice Sullivan, 93, will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Cashner Colonial Chapel in Conroe. She died Wednesday, May 11, 2005. She was born Oct. 15, 1911 in Broken, OK., the seventh of eight childre. She graduated as Valedictorian of Spaulding High School class of 1929, completed business school in nearby Weewoka, worked for the local newspaper until she married in September of 1935. In 1948, the family moved to Kilgore, Texas where her husband assisted in establishing Kilgore Ceramics (later Mansfield Plumbing). She completed a refresher business course at Kilgore Jr. College in 1951 and worked at Rogers Truck Line, then Texas Water Quality Board. She was a member at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Sullivan and her son, Thomas Garvin. She is survived by one sister, Leoma Hibben of Shawnee, OK; three children, Larry Sullivan of Atlanta, GA., Alma Messmer of Denton, Wanda Diamond of The Woodlands; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. ANDREW M. BALL Memorial services for Andrew M. Ball, 29, of Kilgore will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the Rader Funeral home Chapel. Mr. Ball died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 in Kilgore. He was born May 8, 1976 in Stoughton, MA., to John and Mary Ball. He was a welder, grew up in Kilgore and attended Kilgore schools. He enjoyed working with his hands, spending time with children and helping anyone in need. He is survived by his parents, John and Mary Ball, Kilgore; wife, Jessicae Ball, Kilgore; two sisters, Adrianne Ball and Rebecca Ball, both of Kilgore; brother, Matthew Ball, Kilgore; nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. She was born June 6, 1920 in Lone Wolf, OK., to Harry Vanner and Allie Mae Chester Lantz. She moved to Andrews in 1965. She cleaned homes in Andrews, was a past member of Bible Baptist Church in Andews, where she ran the nursery for 20 years. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Joyce Lemmons, Denver, CO., Shawna Lea Criner, Andrews; two sons, Dewey Lynn Carr, Burke, VA., David Lance Carr, Dennison; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. LOYE HAZEL CLAER Funeral services for Loye Hazel Claer, 88, Henderson, will be 4 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2005 in Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton with Revs. Ernest Higgenbotham and Glen Ketchum officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, near Henderson. Mrs. Claer died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 in Henderson. She was born Sept. 3, 1916 in Henderson to Horace Jasper and Mattie Arletha Goss Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Spring Hill, LA. She moved back to Henderson from Spring Hill, LA., in 1984. She was precedded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ollie Waggoner and Pearl Prendergast; a brother, Earl Buddy Gordan; and her husband in 1975, Johnny Claer. Survivors included three nieces and one nephew, Joan Houston, Josie and J. E. Cunningham, Gordan Waggoner , Toni and Clyde Godwin, all of Henderson; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be James Lee, Gene Cunningham, Artie Lee, Matthew Waggoner, Bobby Austin, Brandon Hicks, and Eric Matthews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, May 20 from 5 pm until 7 p.m.
