A Chevrolet driven by a 66 year old male went air born off I 20 eastbound and came to rest underneath the eastbound lanes. Trooper Darren S. Thomas, Texas Department of Public Safety said he spoke to the male who was in and out of consciousness and had apparently fell asleep at the wheel on his way to visit family in Longview. Thomas said the vehicle went airborne between the east and westbound lanes coming to rest underneath the I 20. The driver was airlifted to Mother Francis Hospital in serious condition. Rescue workers had to cut the top off the vehicle to extract the driver. (News Herald Photo by Lester Murray)
