ROBERT “BOB” W. DINNING SR. Masonic graveside services for Robert W. Dinning Sr. were 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Kilgore City Cemetery. Mr. Dinning died at his home, in Houston, after a short illness. He is survived by his sons; stepson; five grandchildren; sister-in-law; two nieces; and one great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to Little Cypress #1459 building fund. WAURINE NIXON Services for Waurine Nixon, 73, of Kilgore will be two p.m., Friday, April 1, 2005, at the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. William J. Ingersoll and Reverend Roberta Dodds Ingersoll officiating. Burial will be at Danville Cemetery. She was born Sept.13, 1931, in Mexia. Her family moved to Kilgore when she was an infant and lived in Kilgore most of her life. Mrs. Nixon was a faithful longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore where she was baptized, married, sang in the choir, was a deacon and helped with the youth groups. She was a 1948 graduate of Kilgore High School and she attended Austin College. Mrs. Nixon was a member of the Zeta Nu Chapter of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. She enjoyed reading and playing bridge. She is survived by her husband, T.E. Nixon of Kilgore; three daughters, Linda and Tom Sartor of Kilgore, Lesle and Brian Williams of Longview, Lisa McGaw of Mabank; two sons, Dr. Daniel Nixon of Rowlett and David Nixon of Kilgore; 10 grandchildren. HENDERSON Funeral services for Q.V. Henderson, 71, Kilgore are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Mt. Pleasant Christian Episcopal Church with Rev. Byron Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of Stanmore Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Henderson died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at her residence. She was born March 12, 1934 in Smith County to Robert W. (Tom) and Vera Hilburn. She lived most of her life in Gregg County and graduated from Kilgore Colored High School in 1951, she also attended Texas College in Tyler. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant CME Church and served on the Longview-Marshall District and East Texas Regional District. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Roosevelt Henderson of Kilgore; daughters, Phyllis Henderson, Hyacinth Henderson Holt, both of Kilgore, Dorinda Henderson of Tyler; sons, Kenneth and Kimberly Henderson, Gerald Henderson, all of Kilgore; two sisters, Maxine and C.D. Fortson Sr., Mary Pinke, all of Kilgore; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Tommy Reese, Byron Franklin, Johnny Mauldin, Jimmy Mauldin, Charles K. Dixon and Bill Harvey. Honorary pallbearers are C.D. Fortson Jr., Charles Frederick Kennedy, Robert Pinke, Jacque Pinke, Ben Campbell, Billy George and Anthony Pinke. Family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant CME Church, Old Hwy. 135 S. in Kilgore. All viewing is prior to 11 a.m. service. VIRGINIA BESS Funeral services for Virginia Bess, 81, of Longview are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Burrows Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Rusk County Memorial Gardens in Henderson under the direction of Burrows Overton Funeral Home. Mrs. Bess died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview after a lengthy illness. She was born Nov. 8, 1923 in Calvert to Bige and Vesta Eugenia Rodgers Gregory. She was a member of Greggton Baptist Church. She moved to East Texas 57 years ago from Dayton, OH and was a former member of Queen Price Garden Club and Overton Rebekah Lodge in Overton. She is survived by her husband, Ed Pritchett of Longview; two sons, Bobby Bess of Overton and Yancy Bess of Mabank; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Burrows Chapel.
