Kilgore Boys & Girls Club honored its young members and staff at an awards ceremony Wednesday evening and a guest speaker encouraged the kids to make the most of opportunities offered at the club. Ronald Shepherd, a native of Kilgore, former professional baseball player and member of God’s Promise Restoration Center in Kilgore, advised the boys and girls to heed the lessons taught by the staff.
Almost, but not quite: Kilgore City Pool won’t be open in time for Memorial Day – final repairs continue – so Splash Day has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 1. The Lazy S Splash Ranch is open for business, however, Kilgore City Manager Josh Selleck said, while workers put the finishing touches on the pool, where work has been oft-delayed by rain.
Cast and crew of the 34th season the Texas Shakespeare Festival were welcomed to Kilgore this week as they prepare for weeks of hard work leading up to their June 27 premiere. This year, the work will be as challenging as ever but will take on a new dimension.
