A trial date for a Kilgore woman accused of kidnapping a Rangerette at gunpoint in 2016 has been set.
Nancy Alice Motes, 59, is scheduled to go to trial April 15 for two charges of aggravated kidnapping stemming from incidents which are said to have occurred Dec. 29, 2016.
Filing for local city and school elections is underway – several seats in Kilgore will be on the May ballot.
In the city council, Mayor Ronnie Spradlin’s term is expiring, opening up the possibility of a challenger stepping forward. Also up for election is the Place 2 seat, currently held by Mayor Pro Tem Harvey McClendon and the Place 3 seat, currently occupied by Mike Sechrist, who moved into the position when Place 3 councilman Neil Barr died last May.

The East Texas Oil Museum at Kilgore College will reopen Wednesday, Jan. 23, after renovations to upgrade the facility.
The museum was closed mid-November to receive an overall facelift and exhibit upgrades.
